South  Heights Student/Staff Support Team
All schools in Henderson County have an SST.  The purpose of the Team is to provide teachers with support and assistance in helping their students.  Teachers who are concerned about a student's academic and/or behavioral progress meet with the SST to brainstorm ideas for strategies to use to help the student be more successful.  The teachers then monitor the student's progress and if he/she does not make the progress desired with the intervention strategies, the Team may recommend an evaluation to determine if the student has an educational disability.

The South Heights SST is very active.  We meet each Friday morning and assist teachers in planning interventions for approximately 50 students each year.  The Team members are:  Laura McGrail, chair; Kathy Harrison, Cara Jameson, B. E. Martin, Keevie Dixon, Sarah Quinett, Mimi Reed, Crissy Sandefur, Shawna Carter, Laura Kopshever, Christie Crawford
